Nitrous Oxide is a safe pain relieving drug that can be used in conjunction with local anesthesia for the mild to moderate anxious dental patient.
Quick acting in nature, it provides a pleasant level of sedation, with few side effects. The gas will be administered with a comfortable disposable mask placed over the patient’s nose. Since the patient is awake, they will be able to listen and respond to any instructions the dentist may have. Towards the end of the appointment the patient is administered oxygen to breath, and the effects of the sedation are reversed
As an added benefit you don’t need someone to escort you to and from the office and you can return to normal activities immediately.
